Line4Line’s Youth Mentoring Programs include our Clippers Youth Basketball Leagues, Lady Clippers Cheer Team, Out of School Camps and  Teen Apprentice Program.  Our goal is to engage young people in positive, healthy, out of school time, neighborhood based programs that build friendships, support healthy communication,  encourage teamwork and provide valuable life skills.  

CLIPPERS Youth Basketball In 2021 Line4Line rolled out a FREE bowling program for youth coached by barber/mentor Jimi Jump at All Star Lanes. In 2022 the Line4Line Clippers Youth Basketball Team was established coached by barbers/mentors Ron Brady and Lloyd Oliver. In 2023 season was filled with joy and sorrow, with our Sophomore and Junior Leagues  going all the way to the BREC city wide playoffs and the tragic loss in March of 2023 of Coach Ron Brady.

Clipper Youth Basketball is open to boys and girls 8-13 with practice led by Coach Lloyd Oliver at Kernan Gym (333 Kernan Ave). Summer Basketball is a free program held on Monday and Wednesday from 6-8pm in June & July). Fall /Winter Basketball begins November 6th with practice scheduled Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday from 6-8pm. This program is open to current team members as well as students who wish to participate in BREC’s Official Youth League Season (January – March).

Registration to play on the 2024 team begins November 6th. See age bracket information below:

Sophomore (8-9) – Any player who has not reached his or her 10th birthday on or before May 1, 2024 is eligible to play.
Junior (10-11) – Any player who has not reached his or her 12th birthday on or before May 1, 2024 is eligible to play.
Senior (12-13) – Any player who has not reached his or her 14th birthday on or before May 1, 2024 is eligible to play.

Ladies Clippers Youth Cheer Program began in 2022 led by Coach Toni and Coach Teanna. This program  is scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays 6-8pm at Kernan Gym during Youth Basketball practice. This fun program  teaches girls ages 6-14 dance skills and techniques, while also providing heart healthy exercise,  fostering healthy new friendships and  creating mentor support with our amazing coaches.

Schools Out Camps are FREE neighborhood based enrichment programs designed and led by Line4Line educators and held at Line4Line’s Program Space located in the barbershop complex and BREC’s Kernan Gym and Park during East Baton Rouge Parish School breaks. Designed for boys and girls ages 5 -13 Camps are staffed by a team of vetted, qualified Line4Line instructors. Activities include basketball,  creative play, art, games, reading,  cooking, field trips, guest instructors and more.

Teen Apprentice Program includes  L4L’ Summer Youth Employment for area teens to learn great skills, have fun and get paid as part of the Mayor’s Youth Work Force Experience Program as well as O’Neil’s High School Barbering Apprenticeships and the Ron Brady Scholarship.
