Travis Dabney, Board President

Travis Dabney was Born and raised in Baton Rouge. Travis manages Security for L’Auberge Casinos and runs a family catering business. A community volunteer, Dabney has been involved in Line4Line since it began by providing food, funds, and other in-kind support. Travis’s son is featured on the Line4Line barbershop mural reading a book while getting his haircut by Lloyd. 

Travis has worked in the security industry for over 20 years providing training, guest services, security management, and first responder services. In 2018 Travis was honored as Team Member of the Year, for his hard work and dedication to L’Auberge Hotel & Casino Baton Rouge. This is just one of many awards I have achieved throughout the course of my career. In addition to his role with Line4Line Travis is a member of the 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge organization, which develops and mentors inner city young males.

Dr. Mary Louise Jones, Board Secretary

A graduate of Louisiana State University, Dr. Jones has over 40 years of experience in the field of education.  She has been a classroom teacher and has served in various administrative capacities.  She served as a member of the Governor’s Children Cabinet Advisory Council, the State Interagency Coordinating Council for Infants and Toddlers (Part C), and the Department of Social Services Interagency Early Childhood Professional Development Committee.  A nationally recognized leader in the field of early childhood education, she was recently honored with the Scholastic Light Award by the National Association of Early Childhood Specialists in State Departments of Education. She was awarded the 2008 Friend of Children Award by the Louisiana Early Childhood Association and the 2011 Child Care Champion Award by the Louisiana Association for the Education Of Young Children.

 

Karina Jernberg, Board Treasurer

Karina brings her love of education, reading, and non-profit management to the Line4Line Board. Born and raised in New York, Karina had lived in Northern New Mexico for over 20 years where she currently is Director of Anansi Pre-School and Coordinator of Community Schools for Taos County. Karina has served on many Boards and enjoys giving back in ways that make a difference. She helped establish High Altitude Athletics, served on the Board of Anansi Charter School for several terms leading a capital campaign and school expansion and ran a  successful child-care center for eight years. An avid gardener and trained horticulturalist, Karina enjoys visiting the team of Line4Line in Baton Rouge to read with kids and see all the amazing flora and fauna in Louisiana.

David Curtis

David Curtis, Vice President/Treasurer. Born and raised in Baton Rouge. Resides in Houston, Texas. Veteran of the United States Military. Currently works for Private I.T Firm. Father and community mentor.

Nellie Perera

Nellie Perera. Born in Massachusetts and resides in New York City. Graduate M.A. NYU. Professional Educator, Educational Consultant for Teaching Artists, Counselor at Brooklyn College, Community Volunteer, Teen Mentor, Actor, and Historic Preservationist.

Lynley Farris

Lynley Farris is a Publicity + Marketing Manager for BREC, the Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge. She has over 18 years of experience working in communications and marketing; including arts + community development work in Knoxville, TN, Springfield, MO and Baton Rouge, LA. Farris graduated from Missouri State University in
2005 with a BA in Studio Arts and went on to receive her MA in Art History from the University of
Missouri-Kansas City in 2007. Over the years she has completed three artist residencies,
served on the marketing committee for Baton Rouge Gallery, has been board president for New
South Story Lab and most recently serves as board President for Bike Baton Rouge through 2022. Her passion is for harnessing the power of communications and ideas to help people connect. When she is not creating communications and partnerships in the community, she loves biking, cooking, and working in her art studio.
